Tess - Milwaukee, WI
Saturday we went to Tess on the East Side with my buddie and his girl.
This place is very cool, very good service, and very good food. I'm glad my friend had a reservation, because it was pretty small seating, and people were getting turned away while we were sitting at the bar.
This restaurant had a great pace. We sat at our table, and our waitress got us some drinks while we looked at the menu. She came back with drinks and took our order for some fried sweet potatoes as an appetizer. As the appetizer came we were ready for more drinks, when they came we were ready to order. Another round, dinner, and after dinner drinks. Yea, I got too drunk that night...
Anyway, the food, like the service, was evenly paced. The portions were not huge, but they were very nicely combined and arraigned. I had iron steak which was laid on garlic mashed potatoes with crisp, buttery green beans on the side. My girlfriend had salmon in a very nice sauce that was cooked perfect.
My friend had tenderloin and his finance had fish as well, and they were both great... I tried some of each.
This place is very comfortable and intimate.
4.5/5
