This is an excellent restaurant.

The ambiance starts everything out perfect. It is quiet, dark, well spaced, comfortable and the service is friendly and fast.

I went there with my girlfriend a few weeks ago, and our waiter was to our table in minutes, gave us water, and took our drink orders. He came back with our drinks and bread and oil and we ordered Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer while we looked at the rest of the menu. The Bang Bang shrimp is great, spicy but not over powering, and there are a lot of shrimp in the dish.

From the name, Bonefish is obviously a fish restaurant, and they have two basic kinds, grilled or sauteed. There is nothing wrong with the sauteed, but I would recommend the grilled style. All of their grilling is on a wood fire, and they grill to perfection. The fish was so moist, but just a bit crispy on the outside. As for the entrees, I had I had Haddock cooked on a cedar plank and my girlfriend had grilled Chilean Sea Bass. Again, the grilled style won out. Both dishes were very tasty, and both were cooked well, but the straight grilled dish allowed the cooking and the fish to come through. The cedar plank was a bit over powering

Right now, this is the best pizza in Milwaukee. I say right now because I have my pizza ideal in my head, and I am always comparing new places to my perfect pizza, and i have not tried all the pizza joints in Milwaukee yet (The perfect pizza can be found in the Minniaplis skyway of all places, with a close second in Amsterdam, pick any pie by the slice along the main drag).

Balistreris pizza is very much a Milwaukee style pizza - thin, crispy crust cut into squares - however it builds on that just enough to make it stand out. The crust is thin and crispy but it is just a little thicker than normal so that you don't get the crust bubbling out. Balistreri's uses a bit more cheese than most Milwaukee style pizza joints, making for a greasier, softer pizza. The sauce is great, tangy with a lot of oregano, the sauce does not hide at Balistreris. There is not so much it makes the pizza wet, but you definitely can taste the sauce.

We traditionally start with Balistreri's cheese bread, then order pizza. The pizzas are very big, I have never eaten the whole thing and no one is very hungry.

There are two Balistreris restaurants in Milwaukee, one on 68th street and one right around the corner on Bluemound Rd and 65th. The one we always go to is the one on Bluemound Rd. The dining is semi-formal, the place is quite and dark, an old style Milwaukee restaurant. There is a bar in the center which can get a bit loud, but most of the seating is removed from the bar area. The service is always great and the place is very comfortable.

Monsoon, Milwaukee, WI

Monsoon is probably my new favorite place in Milwaukee. Well, almost Milwaukee since it is technically in Brookfield.

Monsoon has everything I look for in a restaurant, and starts off great. The dining area is dark, quiet, comfortable, and very spacious. There is nothing I hate more then coming to a nice place and sitting in someone else's lap.

The second thing you notice is the pace. Both times I have been to Monsoon the waiter greeted us and got us drinks very fast, then left us alone to settle in with our drinks and menu to decide on what we wanted.

And what we finally decided on was great. I got the Szechuan Chicken and my girlfriend got the Beef & Broccoli. Both of these dishes come with rice, which is served separately. This

The Szechuan Chicken was delicious. It was very spicy but also very flavorful, the sauce slightly sweet with onions and peppers. The chicken was juicy and plentaful and there was plenty of sauce. The Beef & Broccoli was just as good. It was not as hot as the Szechuan Chicken, but it was not supposed to be. The Broccoli was cooked to the perfect balance between crisp and uncooked. The sauce was delicious and again, the chicken was portioned perfectly and cooked just right.

Our waiter was attentive, but not over bearing. He would stop by to make sure we were doing ok, but very briefly.

After dinner we had some warm sake. I don't know anything about sake, but it was good. We enjoyed it slowly while our food digested, then we were off.

Monsoon is very reasonable for the amount of food and the ambiance.

I give it 5 stars.
